kambo

Embark on a journey with the Amazonian Phyllomedusa bicolor frog, cleansing your mind, body, and spirit. This secretion has been used for thousands of years by tribes in the rainforest to heal both physically and energetically, as well as to bring strength before hunting. Through a deep purging process, Kambo realigns, harmonizes, and cleans your body and energetic systems.
Traditionally, Kambo is used to clear stagnant energy known as Panema, which is believed to be the source of all physical and spiritual imbalance. With its purgative, immune-boosting benefits, it is often referred to as Vacina da Floresta, or the Vaccine of the Forest. Today, Kambo has spread all over the world for healing, spiritual growth, and research.

We enter into sacred space together, bringing the wisdom of the forest with the practicality of addressing symptoms that come up in daily life. After understanding where you are physically, emotionally, and energetically, we will design a treatment plan to fit your body and goals. I work in the realms of the nervous system and spirit. Throughout this process, you are held in a safe space. Tools such as sound therapy, energetic work, and smoke are often harmonized into the ceremony. Additional medicines, Rapé and Sananga, are also often facilitated in combination with Kambo.

The secretion from Kambo is dried and stored on a flat stick. It is activated with water and then formed into small balls. Superficial, 1/2-centimeter burns are made in the top layer of skin as an entry point for the secretion to enter the lymphatic system.

Once the Kambo is applied, each experience is unique. Typically, the sensations first begin with a pleasant warmth as it scans any areas that need attention. Kambo travels to these places, disseminating throughout the body. As the bioactive peptides begin to work, one's heart rate usually increases and there may be some short-lasting facial swelling. The following effects vary greatly depending on levels of toxicity and inflammation. Kambo releases physical and energetic blockages through a variety of sensations, such as purging, yawning, crying, sweating, or feeling of electricity.

The process usually lasts anywhere from 20-45 minutes, though you can expect to be in session for 1.5-2 hours.

The frog's secretion has been well known and researched for decades. Its bioactive peptides act as the foundation for many pharmaceutical drugs and are contributing to groundbreaking research on some of the most widespread diseases from cancer to chronic illness.
Research on the chemical makeup of Kambo has been conducted since the 1960s and recognizes its healing capacities in short chains of amino acids, known as peptides. These bioactive peptides impact the gastrointestinal muscles and blood circulation, as well as stimulate the adrenal cortex and pituitary gland. By isolating a few of the secretion's many bioactive peptides, pharmaceutical companies have used Kambo to create over 70 patents in the US alone that comprise many of the popular drugs used today.

Our current knowledge of the main peptides present in Kambo points to effects on the following conditions:
  • Depression
  • Migraines
  • Blood circulation problems
  • Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease
  • Seizures
  • Vascular insufficiency
  • Organ diseases
  • Cancer
  • Fertility problems
  • Deeply rooted toxins
  • Chronic pain
  • Addiction to opiates or painkillers
  • Fever and infections
  • AIDS
  • Hepatitis
  • Lyme disease
  • Autoimmune diseases
